Well
heeeeeeelllllllllooooooooo there! We'd love to tell you all that the reason it's been a bit quiet on the website is
because we've been holed up in a studio completing our latest masterpiece or that we've been on a humanitarian charity
visit to an underprivileged country but the truth of it is we've just been bone idle. First things first, the Calendar is now
updated to include gigs up to the end of March. This includes all of our St Patrick's week gigs and there are some corkers
involved there - please make sure you get to one if not all 4 of them. We may need as much morale boosting as we can get come
Sun 18th Mar! Since a fantastic Boxing Day gig at The
Pump Room (hopefully not the last one) we've had a few private gigs which is the real reason this place hasn't been
updated, so we've had very little to tell you but it is full steam ahead for the rest of the year and we can reveal here
and now that The Belt of the Celts are off on a mini tour of Ireland this June and needless to say we can't wait!!!! Full
details will be revealed soon and we're hoping that if the venue locations dictate that some of our loyal followers (yes
there are some!) may feel inclined to hop on a cheap flight and join us for the craic too? We recently received some sad news that Geraldine Dillon nee Murphy had suddenly passed away. Geraldine
was a regular and lively attendee at our gigs and was in fact at the gig on Boxing Day. Our heartfelt condolences go out to
her family at this troubling time, she will be missed x x x x x Depending
on a number of factors the website my undergo some appearance changes in the next few months just to freshen it up and keep
anyone who visits here vaguely interested. The
next public gig is Sun 11th March at The Irish Club from 14:00.....
Then it's that time again yeeeeeeha.
17/12/2011 Good afternoon everyone. Hopefully you are fully in the
Christmas spirit by now and all the presents are bought and the sprouts are on to soak etc.... We have a couple of updates to bring your way. Tonight we
return to the fabulous Waterloo Bowling Club in Huddersfield. As
grim as it sounds this was and still is one of our better nights out this year. A really appreciative and up for it crowd
and a very welcome and liberal application of the drinking laws all makes for a great night hopefully. As a little pre Chritmas treat James will be performing a solo gig at the recently re-opened Murgatroyd Arms, Skircoat Green on Thursday 22nd December. The gig will
be underway at 21:00. Another quick plug for the Boxing Day
bonanza which will be taking place at The Pump Room from 20:30 on
the 26th December. Always bedlam but always a good night. Get there early to reserve your square
foot of floor space.

As some of you may be aware by now last week we received the devastating news
of the sudden passing of our very close friend Martin McGinley.
We had the great pleasure to call Martin a friend
and he provided us with endless hours of happiness, love, laughter and music. Whether it was with his brother Mick and their
pal Digger as part of the legendary McGinley's (no 2 gigs ever the same) or as a founder member of The
Donkees or even just on his own with a guitar, Martin had a talent that was unique, endearing and surpassed only
by his modesty.
His love of music and the craic was unrivalled; often sending out enthusiastic text's to tell
us that a certain song was on the radio at any one time. Martin took such pleasure from music and the company of his
many, many friends and in return we all adored him for the pleasure he bought into our lives. His encouragement and appreciation
of others music (he even called us "un-notdanceable" once - we're still not sure if this was a compliment but
we know for sure that it was meant to be) was a mark of his generosity, quick to praise and even quicker to smile and
always with a twinkle in his eyes.
Martin was simply great company.
The list of memories we have
been left with is endless and there will forever be places, songs and moments that will raise a smile - Martin dancing
at Maguire’s completely oblivious to his trousers sliding down is just one of hundreds not to mention the many wonderful, post
gig hours listening to him belt out obscure classics with a guitar in his hand.
We'll miss Martin, we loved
him dearly and the world is a poorer place for his passing.
Our heartfelt condolences go out
to Con and Nora, Mick, Anthony, Bridget and Dee and also to anyone
else who will miss him as much as we will.
See Ya Kid x x x x x
